Building scalable solutions and contributing to development teams through hands on experience
As a Design/DevOps Student Developer at Kansas State University, my team managed over 100 repositories spanning critical university systems including student government elections, the student portal, and backend services for cross functional teams. Over my two year tenure, I gained hands on experience with real world development practices, leading projects from conception to production deployment.
I actively participated in agile development workflows, including daily stand ups to communicate project status, leading both individual and collaborative development efforts, and participating in code reviews. My technical focus centered on .NET and Java/Spring Boot/Maven web applications, while gaining comprehensive experience with the full software development lifecycle including testing, CI/CD, Jenkins, and production releases.
I leveraged AWS cloud services for development infrastructure, including EKS and EC2 for container orchestration, and utilized Atlassian tools for project management, story tracking, and technical documentation. This role provided invaluable experience in enterprise level development practices and cross team collaboration that I apply to my iOS experience.
On average, I worked 25-30 hours per week, and when class was not in session during breaks, I worked 40 hours per week.
